What went into making this mix? Any special process?

This mix was recorded during a spontaneous practice session at home over the summer. A few days prior, I DJed at Smart Bar after a live set from Dar Embarks, featuring the late Dan Jugel (of Juzer and other projects). I knew I wanted to include a Dar Embarks track on this mix, so I sort of wound up building the rest of the set around that track. Dan’s passing was a tremendous loss for the Chicago music community. Listen to his music.

What is new on the horizon for you?

I’m doing a set for Housepit at East Room in Chicago on October 30th. My main focus right now is growing the Walking and Falling program. We offer free workshops, lessons, and mentoring to any interested women and nonbinary folks who want to grow their DJing skills. During the past several months, we expanded beyond Chicago, offering programs in Columbus, OH and Buffalo, NY. Looking ahead to 2019, there will be double the number of Walking and Falling workshops offered in Chicago. We’re hoping to expand to other cities as well.
