OVERVIEW
It was a year ago when NORM TALLEY made his first trip from Detroit to Rochester, revealing his soulful brand of house and techno to an enamored new audience. To say that Norm was on point that night is a gross understatement, and the event went down as a massive crowd favorite, fondly remembered by everyone in attendance. It was a night of music that helped to establish a vibe Signal>Noise strives to replicate and nurture with each ensuing venture, so we are delighted to bring The Man back to Rochester once again, where magic will doubtlessly occur.
This time around, Norm’s musical ally and fellow Detroit heavyweight, DELANO SMITH will join him in the booth for a back-to-back 4+ hour set. One third of the respected Detroit Beatdown crew along with Talley and Mike ‘Agent X’ Clarke, Delano is bona-fide legend of the Motor City house and techno scene and one of its biggest DJ exports. A world-renowned DJ and producer, Delano Smith has been a stalwart and champion of Detroit techno since its very inception. When not gigging virtually every weekend in every corner of the globe, Delano is busy producing tracks for his own Mixmode label, as well as others like Sushitech and Third Ear. One of the smoothest mixers around, with an unbelievably deep track selection, Delano will be making his Upstate NY debut at this next iteration of Signal > Noise.
Norm Talley and Delano Smith together is something truly remarkable–an event that doesn’t occur often outside of Detroit or anywhere in the world these days, much less in Rochester. You simply cannot miss this epic meeting of kindred musical spirits.
